Weekend News Digest - 31 May 2014

Goodness me, where has the year gone already, it's June tomorrow!  In the meantime, let's have a lazy weekend stroll through this week's main beauty news, with colour launches from MAC (Pedro Lourenço) and Urban Decay, a whisper from Gucci, more devine scents from the lovely Jo Malone and plenty of polish ....

M.A.C Cosmetics Pedro Lourenço Collection
Here’s first sight of MAC Cosmetics’ glamorous collab Pedro Lourenço. The collection uses nude hues with metallic finishes and comes in an elegant limited edition black and gold packaging. The line includes: Nude Eye Shadow Quad (£33) in Pink Sands, All That Glitters, Sable, Rosé Cloud; Powder Blush Duo in Corol; Cream Colour Base in Hush; four shades of Lipstick (£16.50) in Peach Beige, Ruby, True Red and Roxo; two shades of Lipglass (£15.50) in Gold Mirror and Mirror; and two shades of Nail Lacquer (£12) in Skin and Flaming Rose, available from June.

Not a great deal of detail at the moment, but Gucci's debut cosmetics collection will launch in September.  Developed in conjunction with P&G Prestige, the new collection will include skin care, eye, lip, nail and face cosmetics plus a range of application brushes.  Expect it to be beautiful.

Urban Decay Naked Flushed Palettes & Naked Skin Beauty Balms
Out tomorrow (1 June) are the latest two additional lines to the Urban Decay’s Naked collection.  Staring with their Naked Flushed Palette (£22), which contain a full sized bronzer, blusher and highlighter and now in three new colours: Streak , Native  and and Strip. There are also two new shades of the Naked Skin Beauty Balms (£23), Naked Illuminating and Naked Bronzing.

Jo Malone London Tuberose Angelica Cologne Intense
Jo Malone London extendeds its Cologne Intense collection with new fragrance Tuberose Angelica Cologne Intense 100ml. Created by perfumer Marie Salamagne, the scent comprises top notes of angelica and heart notes of tuberose, while amberwood is at the base. A limited edition fragrance bottle (£115, right), inspired by the delicate fretwork of Jali screens, will be exclusively available at Harrods, other outlets will carry the standard bottle (£100, left).

Sally Hansen Color Frenzy
Not a huge fan of glitter polish myself but it is still very much of the moment. If it’s your thing then watch out for limited edition Color Frenzy range from Sally Hansen.  The eight new polishes combine a different shade of base lacquer and glitter. Colours (from top left to bottom right) are: Speak & Pepper, Candy Drop, Green Machine, Splattered, Sea Salt, Fruit Spritz, Red, White and Hue and Paint Party. RRP is £6.99, available from July 10.

Barry M Seaside, Promenade, Carousel and Bikini
Next week sees the launch of 4 vibrant limited edition Barry M polishes exclusive from Superdrug (Seaside and Promenade, with the white lids) and Boots (Carousel and Bikini, with the black lids), priced at £3.99 each.

Ciate Mosaic Collection
Inspired by the subway artwork in New York City and Antoni Gaudi’s Park Güell in Barcelona, this month Ciaté launches its Mosaic Collection, available in five colours (£9) from Selfridges.

Hope you all have a great weekend!
